I was shopping at my local Sentry last week and when I handed her my coupons the cashier said they don't take on line coupons. When I asked why she said coupon fraud. I had never heard of such a thing. Apparently people are printing out reams of coupons and selling the stuff they buy on ebay(Is that fraud? It is their stuff) and decoding bar codes to use coupons for things they aren't really for. This is nuts! I'm totally confused. What do you think is going on?

Sadly this is becoming a problem. I know Walmart is getting all wonkey with their online printable coupons as well. It's very easy to tell if someone hands over a stack of copied coupons as every coupon you print from say coupons.com has a different numbered code to it. Also, people should be aware, each coupon has a code which authorities can use to get your computer's IP address & location. These folks who are abusing the system are the "extreme" couponers...trying to emulate that television show. The truth of the matter is that is just not real life. It's two printable coupons per computer.....which, in a modern household, should be able to get your family enough coupons to score some great deals. No one needs 47 deodorants, etc. Sad that a few bad apples are ruining it for the rest of us. I recommend calling your supermarket before going just to make sure they are still accepting printed coupons. :(

This may surprise you, but I do need 47 deodorants. They don't call me 'cowdung' because of my looks...

Why don't these retail stores just put items on sale and forget about the scan cards and forcing their customer to waste valuable time on line being forced to watch a commercial in order to get a dang coupon. Isn't our time as a consumer worth anything?

The scan cards help the stores gather information about your buying patterns and habits so they can target consumers and increase their sales...
