Video Game Tour Stops at Southridge
From Sept. 29-30, fans will be able to preview video games before they are launched and available in stores.
The free event will connect gamers of all ages to the hottest video games before they are officially launched and available in stores on Saturday, Sept. 29 and Sunday, Sept. 30 during regular mall hours in Center Court.
Simon GamePlay, powered by Coke Zero, will take place in 27 Simon® properties around the country. Last year, more than 900,000 gamers across the country participated in Simon GamePlay nationwide.
“One of the great things about Simon GamePlay is that it has something for every gamer – young kids to parents to hard-core gamers,” said Cathi Weiner, Senior Vice President of Business Development for Simon in a press release. “The tour is one of our most successful on-mall programs, and we’re excited to present it to consumers across the country.”
The Nintendo 3DS gaming lounge will be at the center of this year’s GamePlay tour. Shoppers will have the opportunity to play the latest games, including popular downloadable titles from the Nintendo eShop. Each tour stop is also a Nintendo ZoneTM location, which brings guests a variety of 3D videos, demos and trivia challenges, and SpotPass™ content from Nintendo Video™. Gamers are encouraged to bring their Nintendo 3DS to play online and to connect through StreetPassTM. All of these features and more will be available through hands-on demonstrations for players of all interests and skill levels.

Another sponsor of the 2012 Simon GamePlay tour is Tunnel Tail™, a free mobile gaming app launching this summer. At the Tunnel Tail Simon GamePlay lounge, players will receive a variety of free premium items, including smart phone “mouse tails” and fun Tunnel Tail temporary tattoos. Lounge visitors can demo Tunnel Tail on-site.
On display at the event will be an advance look at the upcoming Blu-ray™/DVD release of the summer box office hit Snow White & the Huntsman including sneak peek footage of the bonus features. In addition, a game code will be provided so participants can play the new game contest, “Conquer the Kingdom.”
The tour also offers 10 gaming pods, including two mature zones, with a variety of products from leaders in the video gaming industry, including 2K Play, Capcom, Eidos, SEGA, Namco-Bandai, Warner Brothers Interactive, THQ, 2K, Atari, and Edios/Square Enix.
