Instead of saving a few dollars, save your community, mom & pop shops and the country; don't shop WalMart at all.

The reality is in these times many families can not afford to shop for basic items and staples at mom & pop shops. Also, I write about coupons and those stores do not offer such. I spend several hours each week compiling deals, driving to the stores, filming and writing columns trying to save my readers as much money on necessities as possible...maybe by doing so they will have a few extra dollars to spend at a local, independent store. Dont' get me wrong...I know the value of shopping local...I owned a gift shop in Milwaukee for years. This column is not about that. It's about saving as much money as possible, and the place to make that a reality is stores like Target, Walmart & drugstores.
