A Milwaukee County sheriff's deputy suffered minor injuries on I-94 Tuesday after a semi struck his squad car.

The accident happened about noon, in the northbound lanes near Layton Avenue. The deputy was responding to a two-car crash and was inside the vehicle when it was hit, according to the sheriff's office.

The deputy went to the hospital as a precaution.

No other injuries were reported in either crash, which caused a traffic backup over the lunch hour.
