Prescott Miller Jewelers: A Gem in the Village

Family-owned business offers unique jewelry with a personal touch.

One size does not always fit all and at Prescott Miller Jewelers in Downtown Greendale personalization is key.

By treating customers as individuals with unique requests, this local business has mastered the art of customer service and professionalism.

Part owner, Kathy Schnagl, attended the Gemological Institute of America in California, becoming a Graduate Gemologist before purchasing the business in 2006 with her daughter Katie Raddatz.

The store sells unique and one-of-a-kind rings, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings for a variety of occasions, celebrations and everyday surprises.

"Many people come through and say, this is different than anything I've seen elsewhere," Schnagl commented.

Christmas is their busiest time of year, Schnagl said, but Mother's Day is a busy holiday for their popular Pandora jewelry collection.  Pandora charm bracelets, as seen on the Oprah Winfrey show, are popular pieces at the store due to their large selection and beautiful array of beads and charms.

The store not only sells fine jewelry brands such as Pandora, Rainbow Sapphires, and Andrea Candela, but also provides other services including repair for fine and fashion jewelry, pearl stringing, appraisals, and free cleaning and inspections.

In a business field historically dominated by men, Kathy and Katie stand out as female jewelers with the knowledge and expertise to assist their customers with making the right selection for their individual needs.

"We want to be your jewelry gals," Schnagl said.

And as a local business, Schnagl commented, their prices are less expensive than other jewelry store chains.

While customers of all ages have been seen in the store, regular clientele mostly consists of Baby Boomers seeking repair or replacement services for their personal jewelry, or identifying and giving a value to inherited jewelry. Satisfied customers Susan and Roger Voltz recently had their wedding rings resized and updated after 28 years of wear.

The store is unique, Schnagl said, because they cater to unique requests and enjoy developing business relationships with their clients.

In addition to being a business owner, Schnagl is the treasurer of the Greendale Village Business Association (GVBA) and a member of the Board of Directors for the Greendale Chamber of Commerce.
