At 1:53 p.m. Dec. 14, Greendale police officers were called to Walgreens for a retail theft complaint involving Meyers, his mother and another woman. Police found a pill bottle in his pocket with toilet paper, 14 Clonazepam pills and four morphine pills inside. The bottle had the label ripped off. Meyers said the pills belonged to his mother and he carries them sometimes.

His mother also claimed they were her pills, but she had no idea how the label was ripped off. She said she had a prescription for the pills, however, she was not able to show officers prescriptions for either morphine or Clonazepam.
