Greendale Student Wins 2013 Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award
Greendale's Luke Eisner turned his passion into a business, and he's only in the 11th Grade.
Luke Eisner, owner of Luke Eisner DJ & Lighting, won the Junior Achievement’s Young Entrepreneur Award.
And he’s only in the 11th Grade at Greendale High School, but he started working for his cousin's DJ service, Sounds by Design, when he was 13.
“I’ve just always wanted to be around music and it’s always been my biggest passion,” Eisner said in his video.
He started off working for a DJ that worked a lot of weddings and he saved his money to start his own company. Since 2010, the sales from Eisner’s company have increased by 600 percent. He also has 21 performances booked for 2013. Luke's company features five subwoofers, two 21-inch speakers, lasers and LED lighting.
He's also given free performances for soldiers, the Milwaukee Rescue Mission, Sophia's Heart, Crones Disease Foundation and Greendale's High School's FBLA chapter
He focused on building the brand, setting expectations of what the DJ experience should be, and exceeding those expectations.
“It was really rewarding to start something and make something that was always my passion, my job,” he said.
