Dozens of Stolen Pills Found In Greendale Man's Boot, Police Say

Police found pills after investigating man for stealing a wrench set from Menards in Oak Creek.

A 26-year-old Greendale man is facing charges after he allegedly had three dozen stolen prescription pills hidden in one of his boots.

Jose C. Cordova was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of possession of a prescription drug without a valid prescription. If convicted, he faces up to six months in prison and $500 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

On Nov. 26, Cordova was caught trying to steal a wrench set from Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., and police were called to the scene. While searching Cordova, an officer found 37 pills inside one of his boots along with another pill that was too dissolved to be properly identified.

Cordova said some of the pills were given to him by a friend and his mother and he had a prescription from some as well.

He will make his initial appearance in court March 8.

Should the headline read: "Dozens of Allegedly Stolen Pills Found In Greendale Man's Boot"?

It seems pretty obvious that the pills were found in the guy's boot, but it's not so easy to state unquestionably that the pills were stolen...
