Greendale HS Cheer Team Honored

The cheerleaders recently took fourth at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Florida.

The Greendale School Board on Monday honored the high school cheerleading team, a perennial first-place finisher this year and recent participant in the National High School Cheerleading Championship.

The squad features 27 members, a mix of underclassmen and seniors. The team's top finish at the Milwaukee regional competition qualified it for nationals in Florida. For the fifth straight year, Greendale made it to the finals, finishing fourth.

While active in competitions, the team also cheered at football and girls and boys basketball games.

Coach Tina Zamjahn was also lauded during Monday's meeting. She was named Patch's Person of the Year last December.
