Do you have money coming your way?

According to the Treasury Department, unclaimed property is any financial asset that has been left with a “holder,” such as a bank, insurance company or other business or organization, without activity or contact for one year or more. This can be things like checking and savings accounts, uncashed dividends, overpayments, stocks or refunds.

“This is the greatest news to share,” State Treasurer Kurt Schuller said in a press release.  “It is always nice to hand over a check to its rightful owner or heir, but 91 in a day totaling more than half a million dollars is downright delightful!"

The two largest checks are going to two Wisconsin business owners for $15,000 and $111,000 the release said.
