Apple Tech Pioneer Steve Jobs Dies at Age 56

The 56-year-old man left behind a technological legacy.

As a child I learned to type on a Mac computer. Before the age of 14 I didn't even know how to use a PC. I'm a Mac lifer.

It was with great sadness to hear that Steve Jobs died. Typing on my MacBook Pro and looking over at my iPhone I can't help but wonder what life would have been without Jobs.

It's like one of my Twitter peeps said, "My iMac, iPad, iPhone, Apple tv, Mac mini, MacBook.... All pointing to the sky .... RIP Steve Jobs."

I can't remember the number of times that I've had random people approach me at coffee shops looking to learn about Apple products. I always answer with the saying, "Once you go Mac, you don't go back."

Jobs died at age 56 and words of condolence and memories of the technological visionary have been pouring in from across the country, including from President Barack Obama.

Here is Apple’s official statement:

Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.

Jobs’ family released a statement that said he died peacefully while surrounded by  family.

Jobs helped change and grow the tech world to bring users like myself to be up-to-date on the latest news. Jobs' legacy is integrated into my daily life so much that I barely realized it until today.
